Yardstick Project

I saw a new product we received at work the other day and they were made out of yardsticks...so....of course I had to make my own!!! I went to the local Hardware Store and asked for 2 yardsticks....they gave them to me for FREE!!! I already had 2 from Lowe's that I bought last year thinking I would make something out of them. Well that day has come. These two are just proto-types as I want to make them with vintage yard sticks to sell. So that goes on the list for this years yard sale to-buy list. I will put picture hangers on the back of them and they can be hung from the wall. I will also make paint some tin cans that I have been stocking up on instead of throwing in the recycle bin. The tin cans will pose as flower pots or whatever and will have about three of them hanging from the fixture. 

I made a quick burlap covered pot out of an old plastic tub and for photo sake, placed some silks inside. 

I am still deciding if I will stain the vintage ones or keep them just as is and that will depend on the type of vintage yard sticks I find! 

I also want to note I made a few more chalkboard frames for this springs craft shows. I also have a few more dress form pin cushions to finish and I am pretty much ready for the craft shows to begin for 2013!
