My craft room is located down in our basement off of the family room. The craft room is actually located in the laundry room. It is a nice sized room, about the size of a small bedroom. It is very outdated as you can see by the wall paper. Actually, the whole house is. It is very primitive/country. Mr H never really changed it since he moved in 20 years ago. I have been here for almost 4 years. It is time to talk him into letting me paint over this wall paper! So that is my plan for this summer. The whole house has a very 'dark' look to it, and it is my goal to brighten it up! Dark paneling, dark ceiling beams, dark doors....
This is part of my working table. It is a 6' fold up table that I used to use at craft shows and the like. It is very worn, but still in good condition. I have the one side (shown above) with things I grab for the most while crafting.
I love using old tins that I find at yard sales....yes I know the one on the top left is an aluminum tin...I had an extra one, and decided to use it....lol.
This sits to the left of me. It has things that I use from time to time.
I love collecting salt shakers. They are great for holding small items, glitter, buttons......
These items are on top of an old cheese box. My pin cushion, paint brushes, glitter shaker, washi tape, and a jar filled with sewing notions...like needles, machine needles, bobbins, etc....
My clothespin stash!!!
The black shelves I purchased this weekend. I will be painting them an antique white color over the summer. The dressers my mother painted years ago as well as the metal cabinet on the right. She gave them to me when she moved to her cottage before she passed away. I cherish these two pieces of furniture and will never repaint them as they are my moms handi work, and I think of her with ever drawer pull and door opening of the cabinet.
Just a little vignette on one of the shelves.
A little dome filled with corks. I will paint the base this week. I just bought the dome and base at a thrift store last week.
You can see the dark paneling behind this vignette. I so want to paint it a lighter color. The red rooster belonged to my great grandmother. My mother told me she believed her grandfather made it. When I got it, it was not painted. My mom had stripped the paint as it was bad and never got around to repainting it. I did the redo last year. I added some things to it as well.
I love this print! It is on a storage bag I purchased at Lowe's this weekend! I have my fabric inside.
I spent the early morning separating my buttons....Pink and red in one, blue and green in another. I also did one with white/clear buttons as well. The leftovers like oranges, browns, gold and remaining colors, will be separated later.
I have a bunch of Christmas boxes that I will be recovering with paper to match that Parisian basket I bought. I need to label these boxes. The ones on the left you can see hold glue and paint.
The old metal file box on the left holds my paper and paper scraps. I need to tidy it up a bit! The basket on the right holds spray paint and in the front my little paint jars and two tin cans that need spray painted.
Just a close up shot of another basket I purchased this weekend. I love the weaving and the color!
A cloche setting with yarn...
Another view of the counter. This counter sets to the left of my washer and dryer. Once the wall is painted, it will look much nicer!
My sewing pouch I made a few weeks ago. It holds all scissors, tape measure, pencils, pens, screwdriver, glasses and some scrap note paper at an arms length!
Another view of the metal cabinet and shelves...
The other set of shelves...
So, once I can get the room painted as well as the cupboards, update some other things, this room will be just the way I want it! I know one thing, it makes doing laundry a bit easier! I just need to bring down one more thing, and that is my spare lap top. So many times I need to refer to the internet, and have to run upstairs....it would be easier just to have my other laptop down there.
I hope you enjoyed my little room. It is not as glorious or glamorous as other craft rooms you see online.....but I am working on it!!!!
Thanks for visiting!

wow what a fabulous space for crafting! Albeit the decor isnt up to scratch, but I'm sure you will get it all done up pretty in the summer. I laughed when I saw that wood panelling, cos... I used to love it and still do in a way. Our last house had it in a lot of rooms, and even though its considered old fashioned now and a bit dark, I still like ti, and think done in a lighter colour it looks v nice!
Oh for heaven's sake Laurie I was so intrigued by all your wonderful things in your craft room that I didn't even notice the outdated walls...there were too many other beautiful things to look at.
You are so organized!
Blessings,
Karen
