Yesterday, the weather forecast didn't look too good between the hours of 10am and noon. We were worried a bit as this morning was my mother's funeral. By 9:30 am it was snowing, but seemed to taper off. The funeral started at 10am and after a brief internment ceremony, all returned to the church for a luncheon. Guess what? The snow basically remained stable until most of the guests left. I think my mother the angel had a helping hand in seeing that everyone was safe. My sister thinks she held off the snow just a bit in this area. By the time the luncheon was over it really let loose and now the snow is falling pretty steady. On the way home, I took some pics with my cell phone. It is a day I will remember, the day we laid mom to rest. A snowy December day that will live in my heart forever.
This is the Main St in my hometown. It all looked so pretty.
As much as I am not a winter type person, it does look really pretty.
As I close this blog post for today, I just want to say thank you to all of the readers that have sent encouragement, support, well wishes and lastly, condolences for my mother. She was a great role model, a great mother, a great friend and most of all she was loved by many. At her calling hours last night, there were approx. 360 people give or take a few. The line for her "viewing" was out the door from 6pm until after 8pm, not to mention the fact that it was a little cold last evening on top of it. I was proud to stand there as her daughter.

Oh Laurie,
What a beautiful post - you did honors to your mother and I'm sure all through her/your life.
