The other day, I posted pictures of the birdhouse and candle stand I painted. Not pictured, but also painted was the wood base of cheese server. I also painted that white. It was a last minute find in my craft room. Somewhere, I have pictures of what the birdhouse originally looked like, but I just can't seem to locate them in my picture data base. Note to self - label files better!!!
Here is what I came up with. Now, when I do something up, I pretty much go full force! I use as much media as I can. I love embellishments! I am not a simple girl by any means, and maybe you can tell by my creations.
This is a rear view of the birdhouse. Everything from, buttons, spools, old door hardware, drawer hardware, lace, Christmas ornaments, decorative paper, feathers, birds, beads....so much goes into one of my creations.
I love making things like this. It is all put together with hot glue melt. (Except for the paper was adhered with modge podge)
This particular piece, I will keep for myself. As my granddaughter gets older, she will benefit from grandma's creations. It won't be long until she will be spending the night at grandmas house and the guest room will indeed turn into Sweet Melody's room for when she visits. So I have been making things to eventually place in that room for her to enjoy and feel princessy (I know, not a real word).
I have a little while yet to continue to work on the room. It is pretty much done as a guest room for now, but as soon as she is out of the crib, into a big girl bed, this room will be her little "suite" of girly, feminine loveliness.
In the meantime, I will enjoy it for myself!
